BALKAN MAY DAY PARTY à 29th April – 2nd May

International celebration of work, 1st May is celebrated almost all around the world to commemorate the bloody demonstrations of Chicago from 1886. The former communist countries have marked this day as the biggest clebration of social and economical achievments of the working bourgoise people. In former Yugoslavia this has been taken even a step further – commemorating historical achievments, celebration of Tito's birthday later in the month and the actual beginning of spring time, 1st May was a day to meet up with your friends and family, to prepare the bonfires, barbeques, put the beers on cold, and the meat on spitroast! We were listening to rock'n'roll, lying on the grass and enjoying the sun! We had FUN!

Today, things are different, but let us revive those warm and yerning feelings of old Yugoslavia – be united by all the nationals of all the Yugo-nations from Slovenia to Macedonia and put worries, stress, political views and day-to-day life behind and let us have FUN – just like in those good ol' days!

All you need is a bit of good will, some cash and a towel!

ITINERARY:

WED, 29th April – Marina Mandalina, Šibenik. Welcome drink, getting to know the crew and all the participants and boarding the yachts. Allocation of berths, followed by stocking up our supplies (food and drinks). We set sail in the afternoon sun under the Šibenik bridge towards the waterfalls of the National Park Krka – there will be an option for a splash in the lake of Prokljan. Toward the evening we arrive to Vidrovaca – an oasis in the wilderness – where we drop anchor in front of the restaurant, indulge good food, enjoy th good vibes and have the first PARTY!

THU, 30th April – 'Waiting For the Sun' will be one of our DJ's last songs to be played followed by breakfast and an After Party on the beaches of Vidovaca. Those who will want to explore the surrounding area will have time until lunch to see the beautiful waterfalls of the Krka river and visit the town Skradin in the vicinity. After lunch we set sail – direction National Park Kornati – an archipelago of 365 mostly uninhabitet islands. We arrive there just before the dusk. Anchor is dropped in Marina Piškera and followed by a bonfire night PARTY!

Our tip: Dinner at the Marina restaurant – tuna, mussels, calamari/squid on barbeque and a glass of wine for an extra of only 20€

FRI, 1st May – Morning ascend to the summit of the island Piškera where we will enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding islands of Kornati archipelago. Cup of coffee and breakfast will definitely wake you up, to make you ready to set sail in the afternoon sun and give you ideas how to get ready for the final party. The brave ones can dive into the cool May sea. In the afternoon we anchor at the island of Zlarin, followed by a PARTY in the local 'konoba'.

For additional 20€ there is an option of having a dinner at the local restaurant.

SAT, 2nd May – all the best things in life have to end sometimes, so we greet the morning Dalmatian dawn and we say goodbye to Dalmatia by walking along the waterfront of this lovely small village. We set sail to the home Marina, bid our new friends farewell and say in the Dalmatian dialect 'do slidece godine' (till next year).
